Pros

Great WLB.

It's possible the RedHat takeover will turn things around over the next 5-10 years.

Cons

Compensation is not competitive.

Working in a high-pressure, high-performing product doesn't yield better compensation -- just more lip service from C-suite.

Raises and bonuses are very small and not guaranteed. Major compensation changes only happen on promotion.

New senior management in Cloud has started "death marches" to meet requirements for things like new compliance standards.

Advice to Management

Without better compensation, you won't attract or keep top engineers. Granting equity as part of compensation is the minimum you can do to make people feel like they have some skin in the game.
