Declining culture - poor leadership
- There are some really great engineers and low level managers at New Relic, although many are leaving or being laid off;
- Some of the internal tools are fantastic, especially the frontend;
- Lots of history of really smart technical decisions.
- Constant layoffs (before and after PE acquisition) and many good, long-tenured people are leaving
- Pay that has been indirectly cut for many employees as RSUs fall off
- Many jobs being off-shored, which leaves US jobs in turmoil
- Senior leadership who are out of touch - "These layoffs were very hard for me but make me realize that working at New Relic is a privilege not a right" (slight paraphrase because I forget the exact wording)
- Constant rosy picture at all hands - one layoff all hands spent ~15 minutes talking about how it was important to lay people off and then 45 mins about how the company is actually doing great
