The recruiter reached out to me, and upon confirmation, an online coding exercise was shared. Following that, the interview was scheduled. There were three rounds, one after the other.
Questions
There were questions on data structures and algorithms. This role was for a data engineer, so there were a lot of questions on the internals of Spark and Hadoop, as well as design questions for creating data pipelines.

Pros: - Great stock grant (if negotiated upfront - do your homework).
- Great ESPP (match 15% of all contributions; i.e., free money).
- Family emergency > work (depending on your team, but mostly consistent across Salesforce).
- Focused on underrepresented groups, equity, volunteering, and matching donations to registered charities.
- Good medical benefits, wellness, and remote allowances.
- Fair amount of autonomy as long as you deliver consistently and often.
Cons: Business direction can pivot often, usually annually, with reorgs or project reprioritization.
Outsourcing engineering resources to India is becoming a trend. Don't get too scared; Salesforce usually has generous severance packages when your entire department gets wiped out overnight.
