Process
I started with Senior Data Engineer (L3) and made it clear that I wanted to lead a team (L4) in the future. Subsequently, I was interviewed for a Data Solutions Manager/Data Engineering Manager position.
This also involved one interview round focused on my leadership qualities. I cleared all rounds but was then offered an L3 role, which I had to reject. It felt like a total waste of time for everyone involved in the process.
They asked me to complete a take-home assignment, which was not even forwarded to the engineer who conducted that round. I also had to present my screen and go over the solution.
Another interview covered data modeling, one SQL/Python round, and another leadership discussion with the hiring manager.
