The director will be responsible for driving innovation and product development while working closely with Product Managers to shape and execute product roadmaps.
As a director, you'll lead through multiple layers of management, interfacing with executives and customers globally. Key responsibilities include setting technical strategy, driving architecture decisions, ensuring timely product delivery, and fostering innovation across teams. You'll need to balance technical leadership with business acumen, understanding customer needs and translating them into successful products.
The ideal candidate brings over 20 years of software development experience, including significant people management experience at scale (8+ years managing managers). Strong technical background in C++, embedded systems, and enterprise software development is required. You should have a proven track record of driving innovation and building relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities For Director, Software Development
- Lead multiple teams and deliver world class products through multi-tiered managers
- Work closely with higher management, product management, sales, marketing, and OEM teams
- Interact regularly with customers and establish relationships
- Drive strategy, architecture and development goals
- Articulate roadmap to internal teams and customer executives
- Ensure products are delivered within committed schedule
- Challenge teams to innovate and deliver better products
- Partner with Product Managers on product roadmaps
- Review and approve project plans and schedules
- Ensure right staffing of development teams
- Act as Innovation Catalyst and create technical roadmap
- Evangelize products internally and externally
- Ensure adherence to Adobe policies and processes
- Encourage interaction and technology reuse across teams
Requirements For Director, Software Development
- More than 20 years experience in Software development industry
- At least 8 years as a people manager
- At least 4 years experience as a third-level manager
- Excellent people management, communication and presentation skills
- Deep and hands-on understanding of C, C++ & Embedded Technologies
- Self-starter with passion to delight customers
- Relationship building skills with customers and stakeholders
- B.Tech / M.Tech degree in Computer Science from a premier institute
