Software Engineer Intern

AfterQuery is a research lab (backed by Y Combinator) investigating the boundaries and capabilities of artificial intelligence through novel datasets and experimentation. As their first founding engineer intern, you'll play a critical role in creating data infrastructure that will shape the future development of frontier models.

The company empowers foundational AI labs, enterprises, and startups by providing high-quality human-generated datasets essential for fine-tuning more capable, refined, and reliable AI systems. They are at the forefront of creating complex data infrastructure to capture the most useful data for major clients. They have raised their most recent round from BoxGroup, YC and strategic angels.

As one of their first hires, you'll get significant responsibility, owning entire projects end-to-end with immediate visible impact. You'll be building and scaling complex data capturing workflows across web (Next.js) and desktop (Python), architecting and optimizing high-throughput data pipelines, collaborating with the founding team on product strategy, and establishing engineering best practices.

The founding team brings impressive experience from Citadel Securities, Meta, Google, Silver Lake, and Morgan Stanley. They were one of the fastest growing YC companies in their batch and aim to be one of the fastest growing YC companies of all time.
