Description For Data Engineer III

Amagi, a leading next-generation media technology company, is seeking a Data Engineer III to join their Monetise group in Bangalore. This role is crucial in building their new Data Platform, which serves as the central data infrastructure processing multiple TBs of data daily. The position involves working with streaming analytics, content analytics, and ad data for both linear and VOD channels.

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for building a new Data Platform from scratch, enabling customers with highly informative streaming analytics across channels, platforms, and regions. You'll be working on creating efficient, cost-effective, and scalable data pipelines to handle millions of data points from viewer heartbeat logs.

As a Data Engineer III, you'll take ownership of feature requirements from conception to delivery, build and maintain scalable data pipeline frameworks, and collaborate across multiple functions including product, business, and design teams. The role requires strong technical leadership, with responsibilities including leading design discussions, code reviews, and establishing best practices.

The ideal candidate should have 6+ years of experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role. Strong expertise in data platform technologies, ETL frameworks, OLAP systems, and public cloud platforms is essential. Experience with technologies like Spark, Airflow, Databricks, and strong programming skills in Scala or Python are required.

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in Computer Science with 6+ years of overall experience
  • Excellent technical skills and communication skills
  • Deep understanding of ETL frameworks like Spark
  • Deep understanding of OLAP systems and data modeling
  • Experience with ETL technologies like Airflow, Databricks, Trino, Presto, Hive
  • Strong Experience in Scala or Python
  • Strong knowledge in public clouds (AWS, GCP)
  • Technical leadership roles of 2+ years
  • Experience in architecting and building scalable big data analytics pipelines
  • Strong debugging skills
