AWS Utility Computing (UC) is seeking a talented Engineer II to join their S3+Glacier team in Columbia, Maryland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud computing technologies, specifically supporting U.S. Intelligence Community agencies. As part of the S3 Engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving government customer's cloud storage solutions while delivering new S3 features.

The position involves working with Amazon's pioneering distributed computing techniques, particularly with Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), which provides virtually limitless storage capacity at minimal cost. You'll be part of a specialized group implementing innovative cloud computing solutions and solving unique technical problems for government clients.

  • Investigate new ways to improve operations and define solutions for complex cloud issues
  • Maintain service health through metric analysis and log investigation
  • Increase service knowledge by studying system architecture and dependencies
  • Expand regional coverage for Amazon's Simple Storage Solution (S3)
  • Build and launch AWS services from hardware ordering to software deployment
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Support U.S. Intelligence Community and Defense agencies

Requirements For ADC Engineer II, S3+Glacier Unique Regions

Linux
  • 2+ years of systems administration experience (Linux and/or Networking)
  • Strong debugging and systems analysis skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills at all levels
  • Experience working with at least one scripting language
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
