Description For ADC Engineer III, Amazon Dedicated Cloud Relational Engineering

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced ADC Engineer III to join their Amazon Dedicated Cloud Relational Engineering team. This role is crucial in supporting AWS's database offerings including Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, EMR, RDS, and Redshift - services that form a critical part of today's internet infrastructure.

The position involves working with U.S. Intelligence Community and Defense agencies to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and tackle unique technical challenges. As an ADC Engineer, you'll be responsible for owning and advancing mission-critical services in Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADC), focusing particularly on RDS products and platforms in ADC regions.

Your daily responsibilities will include deep-diving into customer issues, analyzing metrics, automating operational processes, and providing expert troubleshooting support. You'll work alongside some of the best engineers in the industry, contributing to one of the largest distributed systems in the world.

The role requires strong technical expertise, with at least 5 years of systems administration experience in Linux/Unix environments and proficiency in scripting languages. You'll need to understand network protocols, have experience with AWS services like VPC, EC2, EBS, and possess strong automation skills.

A key requirement for this position is an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, as you'll be working with sensitive government agencies. The compensation is competitive, ranging from $139,500 to $210,000 per year, depending on location and experience, plus additional benefits including medical coverage and opportunities for career growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a significant impact at scale, working with cutting-edge cloud technologies while supporting critical national infrastructure. You'll be part of AWS's culture of innovation, learning, and inclusion, with access to numerous resources for professional development and career advancement.

The position is based in Seattle, WA, and offers the chance to work on some of the most challenging and interesting problems in cloud computing while contributing to solutions that serve both commercial and government sectors. If you're passionate about cloud technology, database systems, and want to work at the forefront of cloud computing innovation, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to advance your career while making a meaningful impact.
