Amazon Japan is seeking an Advanced Engineer to manage the construction of material handling equipment and automation equipment in their fulfillment centers and sort centers. The position involves working closely with Amazon's global teams and various stakeholders to implement state-of-the-art transportation and automation equipment. The engineer will be responsible for proposing and implementing solutions to technical challenges, ensuring successful facility launches, and contributing to the standardization of equipment specifications and business processes.
As a deployment lead, you'll spend 3-4 days per week at construction sites, leading safety audits and resolving complex technical issues across vendors and departments. The role requires a strong background in engineering, particularly in mechanical, electrical, or related fields, with experience in large-scale project management.
The team consists of 15 members who launch 2-4 sites annually, with each site managed by a project manager and three construction managers. Team members come from diverse technical backgrounds, sharing knowledge through regular meetings and on-site reviews.
