Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineer, IREO

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a dedicated Cloud Engineer to join their IREO (Infrastructure Reliability Engineering Organization) team. This role supports the Intelligence Community's mission by ensuring the highest levels of availability, scalability, and security requirements. As part of one of the world's largest distributed systems teams, you'll be responsible for supporting and engineering next-generation compute and storage platforms.

The position involves working with Amazon's global infrastructure team, focusing on continuous improvement and maintaining exceptionally high standards. You'll be part of a team that values customer obsession, operational excellence, and deep technical expertise. The role combines systems administration, service support, and automation development.

Key aspects of the role include supporting pre-production services through testing and integration, maintaining live services through monitoring and health checks, and developing automation to scale systems sustainably. You'll work closely with software development teams, hardware design teams, and serve as an escalation point for complex issues.

The position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and involves working with various government agencies. You'll be part of AWS Infrastructure Services, which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This team is responsible for keeping the cloud running, managing data centers, servers, storage, networking, and all critical infrastructure components.
