Description For Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineer, Region Reliability Engineering & Automation

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking talented AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineers to join their Region Reliability Engineering & Automation (RRE&A) team. This role focuses on ensuring seamless operation of AWS's dedicated cloud regions through proactive reliability engineering, automation, and leading-edge solutions. The position requires a deep technical skill set in Development, Operations, Networking, and Systems Engineering, along with an understanding of Agile mindset and DevOps philosophies.

The role involves working with AWS service engineers to preemptively resolve potential issues, drive automation efforts, and consult with leading technical experts. You'll be part of building and operating high-performing systems critical for reducing operational burden for AWS Dedicated Cloud teams. The position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and involves working with U.S. Intelligence and Defense agencies.

As part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), you'll support the development and management of foundational services like Amazon S3 and EC2, along with new product innovations. Responsibilities For Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineer, Region Reliability Engineering & Automation

  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to reduce repetitive tasks
  • Build systems that minimize manual intervention and reduce cognitive load
  • Expand regional coverage for AWS's critical services
  • Conduct deep dives into system and service interdependencies
  • Collaborate with industry-recognized engineers
  • Partner with U.S. Intelligence and Defense agencies to ensure mission resilience
  • Build and operate high-performing systems

Requirements For Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineer, Region Reliability Engineering & Automation

Linux
Python
  • Associate's degree or above, or Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP certification
  • 5+ years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows or Networking)
  • 3+ years experience with cloud computing, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or software development
  • 5+ years of experience using debugging and systems analysis skills
  • 3+ years of experience working with at least one scripting or programming language
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
