Amazon Games is seeking a talented Security Engineer to join their Anti team, focusing on protecting the multiplayer experience of millions of players. This role combines cybersecurity expertise with game development, requiring deep understanding of anti-cheat systems, Windows internals, and game security challenges.

As a Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining anti-cheat, anti-fraud, and anti-bot solutions. Working alongside industry veterans, you'll create detection systems analyzing telemetry data to identify and counter security threats. The position involves designing and implementing server-side detection rules while working with large-scale data processing systems.

The Anti Team is a new initiative within Amazon Games dedicated to building industry-leading, multi-game anti-cheat solutions from the ground up. Leveraging Amazon's vast platform and compute capabilities, the team aims to make cheating so challenging and frustrating that it becomes non-viable. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, data science, and game security.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $136,000 to $212,800 per year, depending on location and experience. Responsibilities For Anti-Cheat Engineer, Amazon Games

  • Design and implement detection rules and systems based on client telemetry data
  • Analyze patterns in gathered data to identify suspicious behaviors and potential cheats
  • Apply knowledge of Windows internals and game engines to create effective detection logic
  • Develop and maintain scalable backend systems to process and analyze player behavior data
  • Research and reverse engineer common cheat techniques to inform detection strategies
  • Write efficient, maintainable code for processing large volumes of security telemetry
  • Participate in the team's on-call rotation

Requirements For Anti-Cheat Engineer, Amazon Games

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience with reverse engineering and development tools (IDA Pro, WinDbg, etc)
  • 2+ years of experience with C++ or other systems programming languages
  • 2+ years contributing to the architecture, design, or analysis of anti-cheat systems
  • Experience successfully shipping products
