Responsibilities For Application Security Engineer, AWS Proactive Security
- Shape new services through security review of design, architecture, and implementation
- Implement secure development life-cycle (SDLC) practices including threat modeling and security testing
- Influence decision-makers to achieve high security standards
- Scope and assist in penetration testing engagements
- Create security guidance and documentation
- Develop security tools and automation
- Develop and deliver security training
- Lead security projects with end-to-end ownership
- Support mentoring and team building activities
Requirements For Application Security Engineer, AWS Proactive Security
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or relevant industry experience
- 3+ years of threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
- Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++
