Description For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering - IntlRME

Amazon Operations is at the core of the Amazon customer experience, managing everything from the moment a customer clicks buy to final delivery. As an Automation Engineer in the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing technologies in Amazon's Global Warehouse & Delivery Network. The role focuses on fault-finding, troubleshooting, and improving controls solutions for automated material handling equipment including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, and control systems.

You'll serve as the site's Subject Matter Expert for control systems and sensors, working hands-on to monitor, diagnose, and repair systems to ensure high equipment availability. Training technicians, participating in continuous improvement projects, and collaborating with global teams are key aspects of the role. You'll work with sophisticated automation systems, interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, and support the installation of new equipment.

Responsibilities For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering - IntlRME

  • Be the site level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors
  • Train technicians in control systems fault finding
  • Monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Work with Global Controls Engineering and Operations Engineering
  • Support installation and commission of new equipment
  • Support other sites in the Brazil network
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

Requirements For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering - IntlRME

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with PLC controlled automation and issue diagnosis
  • Experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems
  • Experience in material handling, flow and capacity visualization
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Ignition, Visio and AutoCAD
  • Advanced English Skills
