Description For Automation Engineer - Bristol, IN, RME

The Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team plays a crucial role in maintaining robotics and material handling equipment. As an Automation Engineer, you'll be responsible for maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers. You'll work with state-of-the-art technology including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, and SCADA systems. The role involves troubleshooting complex control systems, analyzing performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize material handling equipment (MHE) systems and implement innovative projects. The position requires expertise in PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, motor control systems, and electrical distribution systems. Responsibilities For Automation Engineer - Bristol, IN, RME

  • Serve as the site expert for maintaining automation systems critical for operations
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering teams, FC Start-up Team, and other teams
  • Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems
  • Monitor MHE metrics and address system performance issues
  • Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians
  • Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes
  • Perform and analyze building System Assessments

Requirements For Automation Engineer - Bristol, IN, RME

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Experience in PLC based controls design, development, implementation and support
