Amazon's Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) Central Services is seeking an Automation Solutions Engineer to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technology in Amazon's fulfillment centers. The position combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, focusing on maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance.

As an Automation Solutions Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing complex material handling systems, including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, and SCADA devices. You'll work closely with various teams across Amazon's fulfillment network, providing technical leadership and support for critical automation infrastructure.

The role requires strong technical skills in both hardware and software domains, including experience with PLCs, industrial networks, and modern programming languages. You'll be expected to troubleshoot complex systems, mentor technical team members, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $116,300 to $201,200 per year, depending on location and experience.   • Coordinate and plan work activities for Control Systems Engineers
  • Work with FC Operations, Operations Engineering, FC Start-up teams
  • Troubleshoot material handling control systems
  • Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations
  • Act as first level escalation support
  • Mentor CSEs, CSLs and CSTs
  • Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for material handling systems
  • Travel up to 70%

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related engineering field OR 5+ years of equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience in an Automation Solutions Engineer or similar role
  • Experience with electrical theory, robotics, controls components and automated equipment
  • Knowledge on programming software such as RSLogix, Studio 5000, FT View
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
  • Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting
  • Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing electrical drawings and schematics
