Description For AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineer, Region Reliability Engineering

The Region Reliability Engineering team at Amazon is transforming how Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) operates critical service workflows in restricted access partitions. Launched in April 2024, this team is reimagining Service Operations through innovation, automation, and Operational Excellence. The role focuses on standardizing and improving critical workflows including credential rotations, host maintenance, deployments, and resource synthesis across ADC regions.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about operational excellence, have strong technical breadth with depth in key areas, love solving complex problems, and think systematically. You'll work closely with ADC Service Teams and commercial partners to ensure reliable service operations in restricted access environments. This position requires maintaining an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

As an AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting operational workflows in ADC regions, meeting established SLAs while maintaining security and compliance requirements. You'll use your technical expertise to solve complex operational issues, create and maintain documentation, and identify operational deficiencies. The role involves working in secure facilities, participating in daily stand-ups, collaborating with workflow owners and service teams, and contributing to automation initiatives.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), along with continuous product innovations. The team values work-life harmony, inclusive culture, and provides extensive opportunities for mentorship and career growth. Amazon offers competitive compensation including base pay, equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the latest cloud computing technologies, helping U.S. Intelligence Community implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems. You'll be part of building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world.
