Description For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

Amazon's Global Customer Service Concessions Team is seeking a passionate Business Intelligence Engineer to leverage data for actionable insights that improve customer experience. The role focuses on identifying and eliminating defects leading to returns across different marketplaces. As a BIE, you'll collaborate with Data Engineers and other BIEs to build accurate, reliable, and accessible solutions across the BI landscape. You'll work with business, finance, and product teams from customer service, Operations, Returns, and the Recommerce and Sustainability organization.

The position involves designing and maintaining scalable solutions for metrics, reports, and dashboards while using analytical rigor to drive business decisions. You'll be responsible for developing queries, creating visualizations, and ensuring data quality. The role requires expertise in data analysis, ETL processes, and the ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions.

Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards
  • Translate basic business problem statements into analysis requirements
  • Use analytical and statistical rigor to answer business questions and drive business decisions
  • Find and create ways to measure the customer experience to drive business outcomes
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects
  • Write queries and outputs efficiently
  • Convert data to make it analysis-ready
  • Troubleshoot operational data-quality issues
  • Review and audit existing ETL jobs and queries

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
