Amazon is seeking a passionate Business Intelligence Engineer to join their Global Customer Service Concessions Team. This role focuses on leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that improve customer experience and business decisions. The position involves working with a seasoned group of Data Engineers and other BIEs to build accurate, reliable, and accessible solutions across the BI landscape.

The role requires collaboration with business, finance, and product teams from customer service, Operations teams, Returns, and the Recommerce and Sustainability organization. You'll be responsible for understanding data needs, ensuring business users can answer complex questions with real data, and educating customers on self-serve data capabilities.

As a BIE, you'll work on data ingestion, storage, processing, and automated self-serve reporting. The position demands strong analytical skills, the ability to translate business problems into analysis requirements, and expertise in data visualization and query optimization. Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards
  • Translate basic business problem statements into analysis requirements
  • Use analytical and statistical rigor to answer business questions and drive business decisions
  • Find and create ways to measure the customer experience to drive business outcomes
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects
  • Write queries and outputs efficiently
  • Convert data to make it analysis-ready
  • Troubleshoot operational data-quality issues
  • Review and audit existing ETL jobs and queries
  • Recommend improvements to back-end data sources

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
