Description For Business Intelligence Engineer

Join Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing Risk Ops team as a Business Intelligence Engineer where you'll be at the forefront of data-driven decision making. In this role, you'll work with cutting-edge data technologies including Redshift, Lambda, and Tableau while developing data modeling strategies and design decisions. You'll be responsible for creating scalable business intelligence solutions that directly impact author experiences and business operations.

The position offers an opportunity to work with large-scale data sets and complex analytical challenges in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across Amazon's Books organization, developing end-to-end reporting solutions and automated systems that drive business insights.

Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer

  • Develop complex queries for ad hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable, automated systems, reports, and dashboards
  • Design, implement, and support key datasets for business information
  • Interface with stakeholders and gather requirements
  • Partner with analysts, data engineers, and software developers across the organization
  • Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities
  • Build scalable self-service solutions

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience using SQL to pull data and Python scripting for data processing
