Description For Business Intelligence Engineer, FinOps FP&A

Amazon's Global Finance Services (GFS) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to support their Amazon Music finance team. This role combines technical expertise with business acumen, working in one of the world's largest data warehouse environments. The position involves designing and implementing data solutions, creating analytics reports, and delivering insights that drive key business decisions.

The role requires deep experience in data warehouse design, management, and business applications. You'll work directly with business owners to develop and define key business questions, building datasets that provide answers and drive change. The position demands excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels.

Key responsibilities include managing production analytics reports and dashboards, supporting global customers and stakeholders with standardized performance metrics, and providing operational support to Amazon Music finance teams. You'll use various tools including SQL (Oracle and Redshift), ETL tools, Excel, data visualization platforms (Tableau/PowerBI/QuickSight), and scripting languages.

  • Delivery of standardized performance metrics for global customers and stakeholders
  • Partner with existing BI leader in executing defined roadmap of projects
  • Provide ad-hoc support for SQL report creation, modification and optimization
  • Debug report issues, unblock workflows and communicate with other teams
  • Design, implement, and operate stable, scalable, low cost data solutions
  • Work with business customers to understand requirements and implement reporting solutions

  • 2+ years of experience as an analyst or engineer in the data/BI space
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quick sight, or similar tools
  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  • Experience with any scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
  • Retrieve and analyze data using SQL, Excel, and other data management systems
