Description For Business Intelligence Engineer, ROW Supply Chain Analytics

Amazon's Rest of the World (ROW) Supply Chain Analytics team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join their Delivery Speed Analytics function. This role focuses on developing solutions that directly impact Amazon's delivery promise capabilities, working at the intersection of Supply Chain and Delivery Experience. The position involves sophisticated data analysis, statistical modeling, and AWS service utilization to optimize network speed and enhance customer experience.

The role requires strong analytical thinking, project management capabilities, and excellent stakeholder communication skills. You'll be responsible for analyzing massive data sets, identifying improvement areas, defining metrics, and implementing long-term solutions. Working closely with program managers, software developers, research scientists, and product managers, you'll dive deep into data to drive meaningful improvements.

As a BIE embedded in the business team, you'll have the opportunity to shape program development while leveraging your technical expertise. The position offers exposure to various teams including transportation, operations, finance, category, delivery experience, and platform teams. You'll work with complex data sets, create automated reporting solutions, and translate technical findings into actionable business insights.

Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer, ROW Supply Chain Analytics

  • Converting data into digestible business intelligence and actionable information
  • Writing high quality SQL codes to retrieve and analyze data
  • Working with large data sets, automate data extraction, and build monitoring/reporting dashboard
  • Analyzing and solving business problems with focus on understanding root causes
  • Communicating complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders
  • Performing complex data analysis (root cause deep dives, correlations, regressions, simulations, optimization)
  • Being a subject matter expert in fulfillment and ordering systems
  • Engaging with senior leadership on drafting proposals and improvement plans

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, ROW Supply Chain Analytics

Python
  • 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
