AWS Support Engineering Team is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer specializing in Security to provide technical assistance to customers using AWS cloud services. This role is part of the Security profile team, focusing on ID management, authentication/authorization, data protection, and compliance-related services.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with AWS's cutting-edge technology while supporting customers in their cloud journey. Engineers will handle customer inquiries through multiple channels (web, phone, chat) and provide 24/7 Japanese language support. The team structure allows for comfortable work-life balance without night shifts, as support is distributed across different time zones globally.

As a Cloud Support Engineer (Security), you'll be exposed to various customer use cases, allowing for continuous learning and growth. You'll have the opportunity to work with AWS's source code, freely use AWS services, and collaborate with talented engineers worldwide. The role involves not only technical problem-solving but also contributing to service improvements based on customer feedback.

The ideal candidate should possess both technical and communication skills, with a particular focus on security-related troubleshooting abilities. While Japanese is the primary language for customer support, English reading and writing skills are necessary for collaboration with international teams and development groups. The position offers the flexibility to work from either Tokyo or Osaka office.

  • Provide technical support for AWS cloud services with focus on security

Requirements For Cloud Support Engineer I (Security)

Linux
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Windows)
  • Fundamental understanding of networking (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS)
  • Basic knowledge of security (ID management, authentication/authorization, cryptography)
  • Excellent Japanese communication skills (verbal and written)
  • English communication skills (reading and writing)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Available to work 8-hour shifts between 7:00-21:00, including weekend rotations
  • Continuous learning mindset and ability to share knowledge with team
