The Controls Systems Engineer role at Amazon focuses on advancing packaging platforms to enhance customer experience and internal fulfillment network efficiency. This position is part of the Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) organization, which is responsible for developing and deploying automated solutions across Amazon's Fulfillment Network.

The role requires deep expertise in advanced motion control systems and system architecture integration, including HMI, PLC, Motion Control, and various subsystems. The engineer will work on creating and implementing highly flexible and efficient packaging machinery and automation platforms that optimize customer satisfaction while maintaining cost-effectiveness and sustainability.

Key responsibilities include executing platform-specific control systems design, integration, and programming at the project level. The position involves close collaboration with Electrical and Mechanical engineering teams, prototyping, internal manufacturing, and various technical support teams to ensure machinery and automation platforms meet project objectives in terms of rate, availability, quality, cost, and functionality.

The role is situated within Amazon's broader initiative to align mechatronics and packaging into one organization, enabling the development and deployment of automated solutions across the Amazon Fulfillment Network. The team focuses particularly on Pick to SLAM operations for the Automated Robotics Sortable (ARS) network, with a strong emphasis on safety and sustainable packaging solutions.
