Description For Data Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

Amazon's Worldwide Defect Elimination (WWDE) team is seeking a Data Engineer to join their mission of maintaining customer trust and improving customer experience. As part of the Andon Cord (AC) program, you'll work on detecting and eliminating product defects before they impact customers. The role involves developing and maintaining data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data, working with cutting-edge big data technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Software Developers, Scientists, and Program Managers.

The position offers exposure to the latest in big data technologies and opportunities to work on machine learning applications for global issue detection. You'll be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong team spirit and welcoming culture. Responsibilities For Data Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

  • Partner with Software Developers, Business Intelligence Engineers, Scientists, and Program Managers
  • Develop scalable and maintainable data pipelines on structured and unstructured data
  • Oversee existing pipelines and develop new ones for machine learning
  • Work with big data technologies (Spark/Hive, Redshift, EMR, AWS technologies)

Requirements For Data Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
  • Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
