As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing data architecture and tools to support self-service data analytics, playing a crucial role in supporting AWS Finance BI. You'll have end-to-end ownership of data engineering solutions and contribute to strategic decision-making. The position requires expertise in designing, creating, and managing extremely large datasets.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll collaborate with BI engineers, software developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to solve unique business challenges. Your responsibilities will include building and managing analytical resources on AWS, designing and implementing ETL pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark, and continuously improving reporting and analysis processes.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, possessing strong attention to detail. You'll work with cutting-edge AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, and Lambda. This role offers competitive compensation ranging from $91,200 to $185,000 per year, depending on location and experience, plus comprehensive benefits including medical coverage and 401k.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer, AWS Fintech

  • Design, implement, and support an analytical platform providing ad hoc access to large datasets and computing power
  • Managing AWS resources including EC2, RDS, Redshift, Lambda, and etc.
  • Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from various sources
  • Build robust and scalable data integration (ETL) pipelines using SQL, Python and Spark
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes

Requirements For Data Engineer, AWS Fintech

Python
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
  • Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell, Scala)
