Amazon Finance Technology (FinTech) is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team building the next-generation finance data platform. This role involves working with massive volumes of data and building scalable data engineering solutions that process billions of records daily using AWS technologies. The platform serves Amazon's finance, tax, and accounting functions globally.
As a Data Engineer, you'll be part of creating one of the world's largest finance data warehouses to support Amazon's rapidly growing businesses. You'll need expertise in data warehousing components, infrastructure, and their integration, along with deep understanding of enterprise-level data warehouse solutions using multiple platforms.
The role requires both technical excellence and strong communication skills, as you'll work closely with business owners to develop and define key business questions and build datasets that answer those questions. You'll be responsible for creating efficient, flexible, and scalable ETL and reporting solutions.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer, FinOps FP&A
- Design, implement, and support a platform providing secured access to large datasets
- Interface with tax, finance and accounting customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions
- Model data and metadata to support ad-hoc and pre-built reporting
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards
- Tune application and query performance using profiling tools and SQL
- Learn and understand Amazon's data resources
- Keep up to date with advances in big data technologies
- Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes
Requirements For Data Engineer, FinOps FP&A
- 1+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
- Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)
