This role focuses on building and operating technology for Amazon's tax compliance and audits needs worldwide. The position involves working with massive datasets, processing billions of daily transactions, and developing big-data platforms using AWS technologies.

This critical system enables businesses to meet mandatory tax regulations, ensure data accuracy, and maintain audit readiness, particularly in EMEA regions.
As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale, distributed real-time systems using Python, Java, and various AWS services including EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, S3, EMR, Glue, and QuickSight. You'll work on projects like the Unified tax ledger (UTL) and Golden Data Set (GDS), while collaborating with global teams to deliver solutions for evolving tax legislation and audit requirements.
The role offers opportunities to push your technical skills to their limits, working with cutting-edge technologies and solving complex problems in the financial technology space. You'll be part of a team that's essential to Amazon's global tax compliance operations, working on systems that process and analyze billions of transactions daily.
This position combines technical expertise with business impact, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both engineering and business teams. You'll have the chance to mentor other engineers and influence technical decisions across the organization while working on projects that directly impact Amazon's global tax compliance capabilities.
