Amazon Stores FinTech Team is seeking a talented Data Engineer II to join their innovative team focused on building and supporting one of the world's largest and most complex supply chains. This role offers a unique opportunity to be an early member of a team tackling significant customer needs through disruptive technology. You'll be working on designing and building a flagship multi-year project focused on automated planning and predictive forecasting, leveraging AWS Data Lake technologies.

The position combines deep technical expertise in data engineering with business-critical financial applications. You'll be responsible for building and scaling finance planning applications, managing various AWS services, and creating robust data pipelines. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies including AWS services like EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, and Lambda.

As a Data Engineer II, you'll collaborate with business users and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet operational standards for system availability and reliability. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, as you'll be responsible for root cause analysis and implementing system improvements. You'll also contribute to building automated testing frameworks and data reconciliation tools.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer II, Stores FinTech

  • Design and build flagship multi-year project for automated planning and predictive forecasting
  • Deliver on data architecture projects and implementation of next generation financial solutions
  • Manage AWS resources including EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda
  • Build and deliver high quality data architecture and pipelines
  • Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data
  • Build monitoring dashboards and creation of critical alarms
  • Build automated unit test and regression test framework
  • Rotational on-call availability for critical systems support

  • Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction
  • Experience with SQL
