Description For Data Engineer III, Buyer Fraud

Amazon's Payments Risk team is seeking a Data Engineer III to join their Analytics team to help detect and prevent fraudulent purchases across their e-commerce platform. The role focuses on building large-scale data systems to drive advanced analytics for Payments Risk.

The position involves:

  • Building infrastructure to process and analyze large datasets using distributed systems
  • Working with AWS technologies including EMR, Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, Kinesis and Lambda
  • Collaborating with scientists, business intelligence engineers, and product managers
  • Delivering stable data feeds for business insights and machine learning
  • Architecting and implementing next-generation BI solutions including streaming applications
  • Managing AWS resources and building ETL pipelines
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring team members

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and customer-obsessed, with strong data engineering skills and experience in big data technologies. They should be capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards for data accuracy and system performance.
