Description For Data Engineer, Infrastructure Science

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon's cloud operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Engineer in the Infrastructure Science team, you'll be instrumental in building world-class machine learning power models and software-enabled backstops to ensure the health of thermal and electrical infrastructure at high utilization.

The role involves creating sophisticated data pipelines that optimize power, cooling, and supply chain decisions for AWS Infrastructure. You'll work in a collaborative environment alongside Data Scientists, BIEs, Technical Program Managers, and Software teams, synthesizing data across the organization in a data warehouse environment. The position offers flexibility with locations in Seattle, SJC, or DC.

Your responsibilities will include deploying data pipelines, meeting with stakeholders for new projects, and maintaining solutions that contribute to data center operations, AWS inventory decisions, and network design. The team values personal growth, with Fridays blocked from meetings for skill development. You'll join a diverse, global team spread across Seattle, Denver, California, and Virginia.

The analytics team you'll be part of manages data architecture and provides actionable insights for key performance indicators. These metrics help measure business objective achievement, identify risks and opportunities, set priorities, and drive improvements. You'll work with a Datawarehouse that feeds production models and serves as a central repository for all power models.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for excellence, experience in building scalable Data Engineering solutions, and strong coding skills. You should be able to work autonomously, handle competing priorities, and thrive in an agile environment. The role offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology at AWS, the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform.
