Job Description

AWS is launching its groundbreaking European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), representing a major milestone in utility computing. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join AWS's Managed Operations team, where you'll be instrumental in building and leading operations for critical AWS services including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, specifically designed for EU customers.

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of the ESC launch in 2025, collaborating with global AWS teams to shape the future of AWS services. Your daily responsibilities will involve working closely with technology leaders, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring superior service availability, reliability, and performance. The role includes participation in on-call rotations for incident management, demonstrating AWS's commitment to 24/7 service reliability.

The position offers unique challenges in building scalable services while maintaining high availability for EU customers. You'll be part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), which drives innovation in foundational services like Amazon S3 and EC2, consistently setting industry standards. Responsibilities For DevOps Engineer, ESC Managed Operations

  • Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025
  • Work with global AWS teams to influence AWS services and technology evolution
  • Enhance day-to-day operations for availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident resolution
  • Support development and management of AWS services including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock
  • Review operational health of services and identify anomalies
  • Provide feedback on change management documents
  • Develop and test automation scripts
