Description For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Join AWS Infrastructure Services as an Engineering Operations Technician and become part of Earth's most customer-centric company. You'll work in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers, supporting critical infrastructure systems that power AWS's global cloud computing portfolio.

As an EOT, you'll be responsible for maintaining and operating mission-critical facility equipment, including standby diesel generators, 3-phase electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and fire/life safety systems. Your daily duties will involve monitoring building systems, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring 24/7 reliability of data center operations.

The role offers unique opportunities to work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry. You'll be part of AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the cloud running by managing all AWS global infrastructure. Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management program
  • Monitor and manage daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors
  • Maintain mission-critical data center facility equipment

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 2+ years experience with Microsoft Office products
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to maintain balance, work on ladders, and perform construction tasks
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
