Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented Incident Management Engineer to join their Escalation and Event Management (E2M) team. This role is critical in maintaining AWS's position as the world's leading cloud platform by managing and resolving critical customer incidents and escalations.
The position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and communication skills, as you'll be working with both Japanese and English-speaking stakeholders. As an Incident Management Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving the resolution of large-scale customer-impacting incidents, managing critical escalations, and ensuring effective communication during high-impact events.
The role is part of AWS's global 24x7 operations team, working in a follow-the-sun model across three operating regions. While some weekend and holiday work is required, there are no late-night shifts, promoting a healthy work-life balance. You'll be joining a team that values continuous learning, diversity, and professional growth.
Key responsibilities include leading incident response for critical customer workloads, collaborating with engineering teams on complex technical challenges, and developing mechanisms to improve customer experience and operational excellence. You'll also contribute to documentation, design new standard operating procedures, and mentor peers in technical and operational areas.
The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of experience in areas such as network and operating system support, technical support, virtualization, or enterprise-level incident management. Strong analytical skills, technical acumen, and excellent business judgment are essential. Experience with cloud services, high availability design, and scripting languages like Python or JavaScript is highly valued.
AWS offers comprehensive benefits, including flexible work arrangements, career development opportunities, and strong mentorship programs. The company is committed to fostering an inclusive culture where diversity is celebrated and work-life harmony is prioritized.
Join AWS and be part of a team that's shaping the future of cloud computing while working with some of the most innovative companies worldwide. Your decisions will be fundamental in protecting critical customers and maintaining the health of AWS customers globally.
