Description For Member of Technical Staff - Software Engineering - ML Infrastructure, AGI Autonomy

Amazon has launched an innovative research lab in San Francisco focused on developing foundational capabilities for useful AI agents. The lab combines large language models (LLMs) with reinforcement learning (RL) to tackle complex challenges in reasoning, planning, and world modeling across virtual and physical environments. This role is part of Amazon's broader AGI organization, which recently introduced Amazon Nova, their next-generation foundation models.

As a Member of Technical Staff in ML Infrastructure, you'll join a small, talent-dense team backed by Amazon's extensive resources and scale. The position offers the unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI agent development, creating tools for model training and evaluation that will shape the future of artificial intelligence. The team operates with significant autonomy while maintaining the stability and support of Amazon's infrastructure.

The role requires strong software engineering skills with at least 5 years of professional experience and expertise in languages like Python, Java, or C++. Ideal candidates will have a background in computer science, practical machine learning experience, and familiarity with GPU training infrastructure. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $120,000 to $350,000 based on location and experience, plus additional benefits and potential equity compensation.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers who want to work at the forefront of AI development, combining practical software engineering skills with advanced machine learning capabilities. You'll be part of a team that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in AI, with the potential to make significant contributions to the field while working on projects with real-world impact.
