Description For ML Software Engineer, Robotics AI

The Vulcan team at Amazon Robotics is seeking talented ML Software Engineers to develop cutting-edge robotic systems. This role focuses on building high-performance robotic systems that can perceive, learn, and act intelligently.

The position involves:

  • Developing computer vision systems and ML/AI models for robotic applications
  • Creating and optimizing robotic control and motion planning systems
  • Managing end-to-end processes including decision explanation, fault detection, and monitoring
  • Implementing large-scale model training and simulation
  • Working with hardware integration and deployment
  • Supporting wide-deployment systems and prototypes in the lab

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Design and test ML pipelines for vision systems on robotic platforms
  • Deploy and optimize ML models at scale on the edge
  • Collaborate with science and operations teams
  • Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews and fault-tolerant design
  • Work directly with customers for prototype testing and feedback
  • Mentor other team members
