Description For Multimedia SDE II , Amazon Devices

Amazon Lab126 is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer II to join their Multimedia team working on cutting-edge consumer devices. As part of the team that created the Kindle, Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Amazon Echo, you'll help build next-generation media technologies for Amazon's device ecosystem.

The role focuses on multimedia and streaming framework development within FireOS/Android and Linux/GStreamer environments. You'll be responsible for implementing new features and enhancements for various media player engines including Android, ExoPlayer, and Amazon's proprietary media player. These developments support a wide range of products including Kindle Fire Tablets, Amazon FireTV, Amazon Echo, Amazon Music/Video, Alexa and Smart Home devices.

As a strong customer advocate, you'll own media technologies end-to-end, working with both internal and external partners to deliver best-in-class devices. The position involves researching new technologies, developing tools, and defining processes to build the media stack for next-generation devices. You'll have significant impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of products used daily by millions of customers.

You'll contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including research, design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance.
