AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer I to join their Network Fabric Engineering (NFE) team. This role is crucial in building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks that support AWS across multiple global datacenters. The position focuses on delivering simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions for next-generation IP networks.

The role combines network engineering with Unix systems expertise to maintain and improve AWS's critical network infrastructure. You'll be part of the Core Networking team, working on solutions that allow data centers to function efficiently and interconnect seamlessly. The position involves hands-on work with network routing, interconnectivity, and platform configurations.

As a Network Development Engineer, you'll collaborate with automation teams to develop scaling tools, lead network projects, and provide critical network support. You'll work closely with Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams to ensure smooth deployment of new designs and products. The role requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • 1+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies
  • 1+ years experience in Python or other language
  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, and core technologies
  • Strong Unix/Linux skills
