Description For Network Dev Engineer-II, Core Network - Data Center Life Cycle

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Data Center Life Cycle (DCLC) Team within Core Networking. This role is crucial in building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks that support AWS across multiple global datacenters. The position focuses on balancing efficiency, performance, and reliability to ensure customer access to applications and data.

The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and optimizing existing infrastructure in a large-scale enterprise environment. You'll be part of the team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, essentially keeping the cloud running. The position requires collaboration with software, hardware, and network engineers, while working on challenging problems involving thousands of variables in the supply chain.

  • Create and implement changes on the network
  • Work closely with automation teams in defining scaling tools
  • Lead network projects in sustaining engineering and implementation
  • Sustain AWS next generation networks
  • Operate and troubleshoot network routing and configurations
  • Drive and support innovation from Top of Rack to Network Border
  • Partner with Network/Infrastructure organization
  • Maintain standards across networking toolset
  • Create and review documentation and processes

Requirements For Network Dev Engineer-II, Core Network - Data Center Life Cycle

  • 4+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies
  • 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms
  • 4+ years experience in a technical on-call capacity
  • 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing
  • Experience with router, server load balancer, and firewall vendor platforms
