Description For Network Development Engineer

Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Network Development Engineer and be part of building the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on the behind-the-scenes network and tools that power AWS's global infrastructure. As an NDE, you'll be responsible for engineering, implementing, and maintaining next-generation networks at massive scale.

Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer

  • Leading network projects in areas of network sustaining engineering, deployment/implementation, scaling, and optimization
  • Responding to customer impact events and troubleshooting
  • Analyzing network using tools and metrics to ensure proper operation
  • Investigating technical issues and implementing permanent solutions
  • Planning and delivering new systems, processes, and tools
  • Building and operating network infrastructure
  • Developing automation and mechanisms to reduce manual operations

  • Relevant degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience in large-scale network environment
  • Experience in network focused hands-on technical role with routing protocols
  • Experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms
  • Technical on-call experience responding to customer impacts
  • Knowledge of networking configuration tools and Infrastructure as Code
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and Network Security architecture
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python preferred, Perl, Ruby, Shell, Java)
