Description For Network Development Engineer, DC Edge Fabric Engineering

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon's cloud operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure. This role within the DC Edge Fabric engineering team offers an opportunity to work on one of the world's largest and most complex networks. As a Network Engineer, you'll be instrumental in deploying and automating network infrastructure that supports critical services including Amazon Retail, Kindle, Payments, and various AWS services.

The position combines hands-on technical work with strategic thinking, requiring expertise in network protocols, Linux environments, and automation. Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer, DC Edge Fabric Engineering

  • Deploy network infrastructure across all network fabrics supporting Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments and AWS services
  • Scale the network across multiple global Data Centers
  • Create and improve deployment processes for increased velocity and quality
  • Work with internal customers on designs/solutions from concept to production
  • Create and update network standards
  • Work with automation teams on scaling tools
  • Own DC Edge fabrics, network designs, Network Availability Risks (NAR) and New Infrastructure Validation (NIV) initiatives

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, DC Edge Fabric Engineering

  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • Knowledge of IP Networking fundamentals and Routing Protocols such as BGP, OSPF, R&S
  • Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures
  • Ability to handle ambiguous or vaguely defined challenges
