Description For Network Development Engineer, DX Dataplane Availability Engineering

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their DX Dataplane Availability Engineering team. This role is crucial in maintaining and operating one of the world's largest network infrastructures that powers AWS cloud services. The position is part of the AWS Direct Connect team, which provides dedicated network connections between customer premises and AWS cloud, currently available in over 100 locations across 30 countries.

The ideal candidate will combine network engineering expertise with software development skills, working at the intersection of large-scale networking and systems engineering. You'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of AWS's global network infrastructure while developing innovative solutions to scale and improve network operations.

  • 1+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role
  • 1+ years Unix/Linux command line experience
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing
  • Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with customers to diagnose problems
