Description For Network Development Engineer, GCNA

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This team keeps the cloud running by supporting all AWS data centers and their servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The role focuses on network infrastructure automation across AWS's global network fabric supporting Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments, and AWS services.

As a Network Development Engineer, you'll be part of a diverse team working on challenging infrastructure problems at massive scale. You'll collaborate with software, hardware, and network engineers to ensure AWS maintains the highest standards for safety and security while delivering infinite capacity at optimal costs.

The position combines networking expertise with automation skills, requiring experience in large-scale networking environments and programming. You'll be responsible for deploying and scaling network infrastructure across global datacenters, creating efficient deployment processes, and working closely with automation teams to develop tools for unprecedented scale.

Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer, GCNA

  • Be responsible for automation of deploying network infrastructure across all network fabrics
  • Deploy, scale and automate our network across multiple global datacenters
  • Drive scaling of current network designs to meet customer demand
  • Create simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase velocity and quality
  • Work closely with internal customers on designs/solutions
  • Create and update network standards
  • Create and implement changes on the network
  • Automate workflow and execution of deployments on a global scale

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, GCNA

Python

  • 3+ years professional experience working in large scale networking environments
  • 3+ years with internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, ISIS and/or OSPF
  • 2+ in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
