AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Inter-DC & Optical team. This role is crucial in building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks that support AWS across multiple global datacenters. The position focuses on balancing efficiency, performance, and reliability to ensure customer access to applications and data.

The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and optimizing existing infrastructure in a large-scale enterprise environment. You'll be part of the Core Networking team, responsible for building Data Centers and the networks that allow them to function efficiently. The team manages solutions for rack aggregation and Data Center interconnection, handling over 10Pbps of inter-data center traffic across 30k+ devices worldwide.

  • Strong background in IP routing protocols

  • 4+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies
  • 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms
  • 4+ years experience in a technical on-call capacity
  • 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing
  • Experience with router, server load balancer, and firewall vendor platforms
