Description For Network Development Engineer, Kuiper Enterprise Network Infrastructure

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious low Earth orbit satellite broadband network initiative, designed to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities worldwide. As a Network Development Engineer in the Kuiper Enterprise Networking Infrastructure team, you'll play a crucial role in designing, engineering, and implementing critical IP networks for Manufacturing, Launch, and Mission Operations facilities.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in the space industry while being part of one of the world's largest cloud networks. You'll be responsible for end-to-end ownership of network infrastructure, leading the design and evolution of highly available hyper-scale networks, and driving automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reliability.

The role requires a strong background in network engineering, with expertise in protocols like BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS. You'll need to be comfortable with Linux/Unix environments and have experience with automation using Python or similar languages. Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer, Kuiper Enterprise Network Infrastructure

  • End to end ownership of current and newly developing IP networks
  • Lead the design and evolution of highly available hyper-scale networks
  • Define and influence strategy within and outside the team
  • Lead project teams to deliver impactful benefits to customers
  • Work with network engineers and software developers to automate network deployment and operations
  • Drive operational excellence projects to improve network performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions
  • Hiring, mentoring and coaching engineers
  • Review and implement changes on the network

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, Kuiper Enterprise Network Infrastructure

  • Bachelor's degree in Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 3+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • Experience in IP networking technologies
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Must be willing to support off-hours operations escalation pager rotation
