Description For Network Development Engineer, MONA

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Network Fabric Engineering (NFE) team. This role is crucial in building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks that support AWS across multiple global datacenters. The position focuses on delivering simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions for network operations and infrastructure.

The role involves working with cutting-edge network technologies and requires expertise in IP routing protocols, network operations, and automation. You'll be part of a team that manages critical network infrastructure, implements changes, and ensures the stability of AWS's next-generation networks.

Key responsibilities include creating and implementing network changes, collaborating with automation teams, leading network projects, and providing critical network support. You'll work with various networking technologies, from Top of Rack to Network Border, and partner with broader Network/Infrastructure teams.

The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of hands-on network experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and automation capabilities using Python or similar languages. You'll work in a 24x7 team on-call rotation and manage customer issues under pressure.

Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer, MONA

  • Create and implement changes on the network
  • Work closely with automation teams in defining scaling tools

  • Operate and troubleshoot network routing and configurations

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, MONA

Python

  • 4+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies
  • 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms
  • 4+ years experience in a technical on-call capacity
  • 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing
  • Experience with router, server load balancer, and firewall vendor platforms
