Network Development Engineer, Network Test Automation

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) team within the Global Connectivity and Network Availability (GCNA) Organization. This role combines network engineering expertise with automation capabilities to ensure the stability and sustainability of AWS's next-generation IP networks.

The position involves working with critical network infrastructure that connects AWS's global network, managing internet traffic flow between data centers and customers. You'll be responsible for creating and implementing network changes, developing automation tools for scaling, and leading network projects in areas such as sustaining engineering, deployment, and optimization.

As a Network Development Engineer, you'll work in a 24x7 team rotation, building test automation infrastructure to validate network changes before production deployment. The role requires expertise in network protocols, Linux/Unix environments, and automation scripting. You'll collaborate with various teams across AWS to ensure smooth implementation of new designs and products.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience with internet routing protocols, strong Linux/Unix skills, and proficiency in automation using Python or similar languages. You'll be joining AWS's BERE organization, which manages a network that grows by 70% annually and supports all AWS Regions and edge locations.
