Description For Network Development Engineer, OTIE LAN Ops & Reliability

The Amazon Robotics Infrastructure Engineering team is seeking a Network Development Engineer (NDE) to join their innovative team. This role is crucial in building and operating networks that power Amazon's vast logistics network, including Fulfillment Centers, Middle and Last Mile facilities, and Air hubs. The position combines software development with network engineering, focusing on automating networks from multiple vendors to maximize reliability while minimizing human intervention in deployment and maintenance.

The role offers an opportunity to work on challenging, novel situations daily, collaborating with multiple technical teams across Amazon. The ideal candidate will be technically fearless yet pragmatic, comfortable with ambiguity, and excited about solving unprecedented problems at scale. The position involves creating next-generation network products that are critical to Amazon's global delivery infrastructure.

As part of the Network Provisioning and Automation (NPA) team, you'll work alongside highly-skilled engineers who build all new Amazon fulfillment centers and transportation sites worldwide. These networks serve hundreds of thousands of associates and are fundamental to Amazon's ability to deliver packages to customers globally.

The role requires a strong background in networking technologies, proven experience leading large projects, and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. You'll be responsible for anticipating bottlenecks, influencing vendor and team roadmaps, managing escalations, and balancing business needs with technical constraints.
