Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites aimed at providing high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a Payload Integration & Test Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation and testing of payload features across satellite systems, ground gateways, and customer terminals.

The position combines hardware and software expertise, requiring strong skills in test automation, system integration, and problem-solving. Responsibilities For Payload Integration & Test Engineer, Project Kuiper

  • Conceptualize and execute test campaigns with functionality and performance
  • Perform end to end functional and performance testing of ground equipment, satellite, customer terminals and cloud services
  • Expand test coverage in lab by integrating with test equipment
  • Troubleshoot and root cause MAC to application layer throughput degradation
  • Support and reproduce on orbit functional and performance issues in the lab
  • Draft and maintain high quality documentation
  • Enhance testing efficiency by automating test execution and analysis

Requirements For Payload Integration & Test Engineer, Project Kuiper

Python
Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of satellite and/or cellular lab testing experience
  • Experience with Linux, basic networking skills, and RF lab equipment configuration
  • Experience with test development in Python or similar language
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee due to export control laws
